About the Author
Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has challenged athletes and coaches to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is cultivating Christian principles in communities throughout the world by encouraging, equipping and empowering others to serve as examples and to make a difference. Reaching over two million people annually on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels, FCA has grown into one of the largest sports ministries. Through this shared passion for athletics and faith, lives are changed for current and future generations.

Dan Britton serves as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes' Executive Vice President of International Ministry and Training at the National Support Center in Kansas City.  He has been on FCA staff since 1991, first serving for 13 years in Virginia and most recently as the Executive V.P. of Ministry Programs. In high school and college, Dan was a standout lacrosse player.  He continued his lacrosse career by playing professional indoor lacrosse for four years with the Baltimore Thunder. He has coauthored three books, One Word That Will Change Your Life, WisdomWalks and WisdomWalks SPORTS, and he is the author and editor of eleven FCA books. He still plays and coaches lacrosse and enjoys running marathons. He and his wife Dawn reside in Overland Park, Kansas, with their three children: Kallie, Abby and Elijah.

This is a great book. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes did a great job of putting this devotional together. It is great for all coaches. Are you a Christian Coach or a Coach that's a Christian?

I look forward to being the facilitator as a group of people of faith talk and study together about homosexuality. I especially appreciate the authors directing us to view the subject from the viewpoint of our four valuable, historical United Methodist considerations: scripture, tradition, reason and experience. Yet, I highly recommend this study for all people of faith -- not just UMCs. God's continued blessings to the three authors for this valuable new resource for progressive people of faith who not only believe in justice for all but who want to help others to think about and do justice. Thank you for the well-designed, well-planned "Facilitator's Guide" which is a most valuable tool for busy pastors and others to be able to pick up the book and go forth! To all pastors, Christian education teachers and church lay leaders: I believe it's vital that you "do" this study now in your congregation or community of faith!

This is an absolutely indispensible book for those just getting into radio restoration, especially if they don't come from a technical background. For instance, because of this book, I now know how and why vacuam tubes work.

Not for Beginners

I bought this book without looking at it in a bookstore. I am a beginner in this field and was looking for something, somewhere that can explain radio restoration techniques to the non-engineer. Unfortunately, except for some interesting historical information, and what I would agree are some useful charts on tubes, etc., this book is written with a lot of electronic theory. Those who already have some knowledge or experience in electronics, or are very technically-minded, might not find that a problem, but the lay person will be tossing it in the air in exasperation after a few chapters. Very thorough but dense.

These books are usually a joke. This one is first class. For the beginner, it explains the sort of things we took five years to learn at the technical college. For electrical tradesmen,we can skip the basics and go to the nitty gritty. I was a telecommunications tech. This book is great. If you're a newby it's great, if you're experienced,super.
