Booklet-like coloring book

This coloring book is in all paper form. It doesn't have a glossy cover like most coloring books. I wouldn't recommend it as a gift but it would make great missionary booklet-like coloring books for kids who aren't from the US. Or it could also work for children learning how to color or for sabbath or Sunday school activities.

As an new Christian Ralph Moore's book, "Prayer, Dare to Ask" was instrumental in helping me to develop a prayer life. Ralph helped me to understand that God is interested in the desires of my heart and to not be afraid to be detailed. "In all things through prayer and petition With Thanksgiving, make your requests known to God and the peace that surpasses all understanding..." I highly recommend this book to all new Christians and any seasoned Christian needing a boost in their prayer life.

I'm a long ways from being rich, I am an educator if you must know, and I recently purchased a used Cessna 172; it was built the same year I graduated high school. Wanting some information apart from what the POH offered, and knowing much of the print material related to this plane was long out of production, I used AMAZON to widen my search for information. I was not disappointed when I received my copy of THE CESSNA 172.
Starting with a historical review of the man and his dream, the author handles a good amount of information. His writing style is informative yet readable and he includes a good mix of techical data and practical suggestions regarding operation and maintenance information. Since I pinch my pennies in order to keep my plane, pilot speak for keeping the wife happy, I look for value in what I buy. I am not disappointed with this purchase. Thank you AMAZON for keeping the classics available.

Great book for the Skyhawk owner

'The Cessna 172', by Bill Clarke, contains a wealth of information on the most-produced aircraft in the world. Unless you're an owner though, or are looking to buy a Skyhawk -- sad to say, I am neither -- only the first two chapters are likely to be of great interest. These chapters cover a history of the 172 and its development, including year-by-year changes in the model; and specifications and 'book numbers' for performance figures for each year up to 1985. The performance numbers appear to be taken directly from the Pilots Operating Handbook for each model. The third chapter is all about engines, and is of interest to the general reader as well as the owner/buyer. The first three chapters make up almost half of the book. Other chapters provide information on how to go about determining which 172 to buy and what to look for, care and maintenance of your new ride, Airworthiness Directives (ADs) to 1984, available Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) available for modifications and changes to that date, instruments and options, and more. This book is an excellent resource for Skyhawk owners.

For owners and non-owners, the illustrations are quite satisfying. Another book that is currently available has colour photos of each model of 172, but most of the examples had been repainted in non-original paint schemes. 'The Cessna 172' contains period photos that depict how the aircraft were painted upon leaving the factory, though all photos are in black-and-white except for the one on the cover of the book. As someone who is interested in originality, I appreciate seeing the aircraft as they were. There are photos of engines, instruments, interiors, options, and modifications -- including a chapter on 172 floatplanes. 'The Cessna 172' also has profile and planform drawings from the POH, and exploded views of components and systems from shop manuals.

In summary, the non-owner Cessna 172 fan will find plenty in this book to keep him or her entertained and informed. The owner, who one must assume is a really dedicated 172 fan, gets all of the historical information everyone will enjoy, AND great advice on ownership of the 172. This book belongs on the shelf of every Cessna 172/Skyhawk aficionado. Heck, it belongs in the library of anyone interested in General Aviation.

Complete review limited in time with curious insights. But aspects goes just until the 85's production. Generation from 97 and on are not depicted. The book was first printed in 1987. Prices are really out. No doubt you'll know more about the used ones. Although it Need some updates.

This book has a wealth of information about the ships but reads more like an encyclopedia than a how-to book. It is full of references to buying items and books about details. I will keep it for a source of manufacturers and reference books. If you are looking for “how to” information, look somewhere else

A must have for ship modellers

I find it difficult to describe how so many topics are so completely and well discussed. Dr. Roth has provided an easily read, thorough overview of a wide range of subjects, artfully blending full size and model ship design and construction techniques in a manner that provides both historical and "how to" information in a friendly, clear and concise manner.
His topics range from historical full size ship construction (choosing parts of a tree to make frames, mast and rigging sizing, cannon construction and rigging, hull colors) to modeling hints and tips (sail and flag making, simple ways to make rope coils, blocks, ladders, grates, ratlines and deadeyes).
Dr. Roth also includes home made special tools, easily understood rigging drawings, hull planking techniques. Has a section on kit types, adhesives, basic and advanced tools and workspace suggestions for beginning modelers. In addition, Dr. Roth provides dozens of additional references, manufacturers and resources.
If a next edition is in the offing (this one is dated 1988), the addition of more excellent color photos and website references for the "cyber modeler" would make this a candidate for the only reference a ship modeller would need.
This book is worthy of a prime spot in any ship modeler's library, and the only reason I rated it five stars is that six stars are not available.

I guess I should have read the description better. There are 6 pages in this coloring book. I thought the envelope was empty when it arrived. It is like something you would get for free...now I know that it was just a $1.99 But I should have saved my money on this one!

very skimpy coloring book - not more than 12 pages. Has the traditional Christian message, just not enough of it. I've seen better online for free downloads. I don't think it is worth the money personally. I originally bought this for use in my Sunday school class, but there aren't enough pages to go around!!!

This book i recommend it helps those of us in search of answers why are we here on earth for? For those of us who feels lost, confused or just in search of some spirituality this is the book.

Este artiuculo es mas que un libro. Es, como dice su titulo, el entendimiento del proposito de nuestras vidas aca en este lugar donde Dios nos ha puesto. Sin duda alguna, por algo estamos aqui, algun proposito tuvo nuestro creador para darnos semejante oportunidad. POR FAVOR, NO LA DESPERDICIES, y bien creo que si no sabes como hacerlo pues es un paso super importante ENCAMINAR TU VIDA EN EL SENOR Y SI TIENES LA OPORTUNIDAD VIVE LA EXPERIENCIA DE REGIR TU CAMINO EN LA ENSENANZA DE LA BIBLIA Y AP0YATE EN OTRAS LITERATURAS TAN CONSTRUCTIVAS COMO "UNA VIDA CON PROPOSITO". Sabia que mi vida debia transcurrir en una preparacion constante para cuando el Señor venga como ladron en la noche; sabia que todo cuanto piense, diga y haga, deberia agradar a Dios. Tengo mas de 60 años, a esta altura de mi vida, pense que todo cuanto tenia que hacer como ser humano en la tierra, habia concluido: Naci en medio de una hermosa familia de diez hermanos, creci y me forme bajo la sabia enseñanza de mis padres del temor y amor a Dios, creo haber sido un buen hijo, me profesionalice, trabaje; Dios me dio una hermosa esposa y tres hijos; con errores y defectos, con la bendicion del Señor, puse mi vida al servicio de mi familia y la sociedad en la que vivo y en cualquier momento puede llegar mi vida a su final. Frente al analisis de esta situacion, vino a mi mente y sacudio todo mi ser una sencsacion de insatisfaccion y me preguntaba a diario cual es el PROPOSITO DE DIOS PARA MI VIDA? ; no puede ser que Dios en su infinito poder y sabiduria, me haya creado tan solo para hacer lo que hice hasta ahora.Sin poder encontrar una respuesta a esta gran incognita de mi vida, deambulaba en los ultimos tiempos, desorientado y sin hallarle sentido a los ultimos dias de la vida. Tenia la certeza de la existencia de algo mas importante, grandioso y glorioso, la vida no puede ser tan solo un nacer, crecer. reproducirse y morir; tiene que haber un proposito mayor y unico.
La respuesta llego a mi; un dia como tantos otros buscando algo en mi pequeña biblioteca , sin saber nada en especifico, encontre un libro que lo habia comprado en una libreria en EE. This book presents different circuit configurations and tries to explain what they do theoretically. Definitely not for beginners in electronics. It does not give you an introduction to many things you should know to be able to understand what is explained here. It is good as a reference book.

The book gives a solid base on the different principles of converters and inverters. But I also expected to see ICs included as they were already available back in 1993! A chapter on the influence of different core materials and their calculation is, in my eyes, missing for this book to be a complete reference.

Just received this big book. Upon quick review, it appears it will be great for young and older children alike. Each sermon/lesson has an additional section to be included when dealing with the older ones. The author has prepared each lesson in an almost outline format: (1) teacher materials (2) prepare the object talk (3) introduce the object talk (4) present the object talk (5) conclusion & (6) discussion questions -guiding everyone (even the most novice teacher or substitute) step-by-step to a very informative and memorable lesson. And that's the goal, to teach and have the children remember! The writer uses good, down-to-earth items often found in the home to use as the attention grabber. Packed with 156 kid's sermons - enough for one a week for 3 years! ! ! Looking forward to utilizing this book with great enthusiasm !

Friendly Competitors, Fierce Companions: Men's Ways of Relating is intense, honest, scholarly, sincere, containing a complex juxtaposition and intertwining of provocative ideas. Throughout the book, the late nineteenth-century Anglican priest, poet, and mystic Edward Carpenter, "the father of gay liberation," is celebrated as Leib interprets, analyzes, explains, and applies Carpenter's principles and ideas-political, social, sexual, and spiritual-to the human condition in our own time. In straightforward fashion, Leib presents a brief history of gay liberation in the second half of the 20th century as he also holds up a mirror to American culture and reveals to the reader the several paradoxes in the way all men are regarded in current society. He discusses the professed ideal of universal love vs. the denigration of nurturance as "women's work"; brotherhood/sisterhood vs. ruthless competition; team spirit and fair play vs. glorification of individual superstars and winning through any means; and the constitutional recognition of women's rights vs. the reality of male violence, domination, and control in our society.
Leib has gone beyond Carpenter, challenging the reader to consider, for example, the elimination of war, in a succinct statement that, in typical style, Leib packs with ideas: "If war is the illusion of community through racism, and if it is the illusion of love through male bonding, then war can only be eliminated by establishing the reality in the world of true community, true freedom, and true love. For Carpenter-as for Saint Paul-the greatest of these is love, which always has a transcendent dimension." Similarly, Leib challenges the reader in declaring that "our churches have failed consistently to think creatively about the ethics of love between men." He then juxtaposes two very different voices of our society to pose a searching question: "Louis Farrakhan and the Southern Baptist Convention (who seldom agree about anything) both denounced the Disney corporation as the enemy of family values because it provides benefits for the spouses of gay and lesbian employees. How can we get beyond such jeremiads, which only deepen confusion and perpetuate painful conflicts?"
Although Friendly Competitors, Fierce Companions: Men's Ways of Relating is focused on providing an excellent presentation and thoughtful commentary on the ideas of Edward Carpenter, it is ironically this very focus that finally limits the book. For Leib is at his best when he is mining his own experiences and ideas-for example, on Colin Powell, on middle class marriages, on Dennis Rodman, and the novels of D.H. Lawrence--but one senses that he holds back in order to be "true" to his subject. For example, in making a point about the transcendent power of love and its potential effect on human society by erasing the false distinctions of class and race, he adds a qualifier to this high ideal of love by adding the phrase "especially between men." In another section, entitled "The Drama of Love and Death," Leib declares: "Especially for men destined to love their fellow men most passionately, we really did die to our old selves through our first experience of desire-but only to be reborn into an entirely unanticipated and, ultimately, much larger and richer life." Why limit the transformative and enriching experience of human sexual desire and falling in love especially to men?
Leib is too good a thinker and writer to be limited in the expression of his ideas. Friendly Competitors, Fierce Companions is an excellent and focused analysis of Edward Carpenter's perspective, but we look forward to reading the author's next work, which will allow the unfettered emergence of an original and brilliant mind.
